Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee of Aquia Episcopal Church strives to do His work so that others may know Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Love. Members coordinate a wide array of outreach work that this parish supports and in doing so, use allotted funds, as well as members' time and talents, to support the work of local, national, and international entities.

Local outreach includes GED/Headstart, S.E.R.V.E, Micah MinistriesStafford Junction's "Brain Builders" , Stafford County Department of Social Services (school supplies and Christmas gifts and food), and the Dove Project (an initiative supported by local churches to furnish Christmas gifts for mentally challenged adults).  Beginning the first Sunday after Ash Wednesday and continuing through Palm Sunday, the Lenten Cross is available. The cards on the Lenten Cross provide opportunities for contributions to various ministries as well as requests for items needed for operation of the Church. Outreach also participates in National Night Out the first Tuesday of each August to spread the word about the good things happening at Aquia.

Regional, national, and international outreach includes Covington Boys Home, Jackson-Feild Homes, Young Life, Five Talents (microloans for new businesses in developing nations), Operation Christmas Child, The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East, Episcopal Relief & Development, and Heifer International.

Parishioners who are interested in participating in this joyful ministry are welcome to join us.   Outreach meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall.  For further information contact Johanna Jones.
