Flower Guild
The mission of the Aquia Episcopal Church Flower Guild is glorifying God and enhancing the worship services by combining our creativity with the beautiful flowers donated by congregants in celebration of special events and people in their lives, and in honor of the memory of loved ones who have gone before. The Guild joyfully presents to God these offerings of natural beauty.
If notice is provided two weeks in advance, we honor the requests of those sponsoring the altar flowers with their preferred colors and types of flowers. The donors may take their flowers home after the last service on Sunday or they can choose to have the flowers delivered to shut-ins. We also adorn the church for special events during the church year--Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Palm Sunday, and Easter.
The Flower Guild would love to welcome more members! To join, you do not have to know how to arrange flowers - most of us are self-taught, and we all simply enjoy the creativity and fellowship experienced while creating the beautiful floral arrangements for the altar. We have also had special requests for funerals and weddings, and will work together with any florists designated by the families to ensure our arrangements work seamlessly with theirs for such events.
You do not need to be a member of the Flower Guild to help decorate, especially for holidays and special events, but if you think you would love to with flowers and learning some new skills, please consider joining us! For further information, please contact Margaret Hedger (Mah5724@aol.com).
